SHIPPING TRAINEE

We are currently looking for a Shipping Trainee for our Copenhagen office, to become part of our 2-year Trainee Program.

As part of a 13-person shipping team, you will encounter diverse responsibilities and challenges. You will be responsible for handling logistics tasks with main focus on documentation handling to ensure top service to our many customers around the world. Furthermore, providing general support to our global business partners as well as internal departments such as sales & purchase, compliance, finance, and administration.

As a NoriDane Trainee, you will become part of a fast-growing business with a dynamic and international environment.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicate closely with shipping lines and forwarders around the world.
• Communicate closely with customers and suppliers to set up loading and unloading dates.
• Prepare shipping instructions.
• Check relevant documents based on origin and destination requirements.
• Issue invoices and send a full set of required documents to customers and banks.
• Communicate with the Finance department regarding invoices, credit notes, and budgeted costs.
• Solve logistics claims such as shortages, demurrage, wrong documentation, and transport issues.
• Work on projects both as a team and individually – projects with focus on optimization.

YOUR PROFILE

• High level of English, both spoken and written. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement.
• Structured way of working and organized, service- and data-oriented with sharp attention to detail.
• Proactive with a desire to improve current ways of working, characterized by a passion for continuous development. Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary for optimization, such as using BI tools.
• Rather than seeing road blocks you see possible solutions – solutions you arrive at both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Fast learner with quick and analytical thinking abilities.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain orderly records.
• Ability to keep a clear head in fast-paced environments and effectively multitask as well as prioritize certain tasks.
